Why You Absolutely Should Sue When You Are Diagnosed With Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a very unpleasant form of cancer caused by asbestos. Even if you have never been near or around asbestos, but you are a smoker, you may have been exposed anyway because some cigarette companies have been known to use this fiber to extend the life of a cigarette and give it a greater draw. However you were exposed, you need to figure out the where and the how, and then you need to consult mesothelioma lawyers right away. You absolutely should sue when you are diagnosed with this awful disease, and here is why.

The Disease Can Go Undetected for a Long Time

The symptoms of mesothelioma are very similar to coughs, colds, pneumonia, and any disease or disorder that has fatigue as one of the main symptoms. As such, you may be treated for just about everything else before you are finally and properly diagnosed with mesothelioma. It is then that you may have only a short time left to receive cancer treatment therapies and hopefully survive. The cost for these treatments is enormous because it includes a lot of surgery, chest tube drains, antibiotics, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Health insurance will only cover so much. The business or company responsible for your case should help pay for your care.

Only Eight Percent of People Diagnosed Survive It

Mesothelioma is one of the most devastating cancers to develop because only eight percent of those diagnosed in time survive it. An astounding ninety-two percent will die of this disease every year. It has to be treated aggressively, and while you are receiving treatment, you should be pursuing your lawsuit. Your family may continue the lawsuit on your behalf if you should pass away, but it might give you some peace of mind to know that your family and the medical bills from your care will be taken care of.

You Should Have Been Protected

IF you worked in a plant where asbestos was made or used to create some other product or appliance, you should have been protected. Your employer had an obligation to protect you against inhaling the asbestos fibers. Because they did not protect you, you are now very ill. That typically constitutes a negligence on their part and a personal injury lawsuit, but because a trust fund has been set aside for victims of mesothelioma, you can pursue medical compensation through the mesothelioma trust fund.

About Me

Journey Through Real Estate Law

Hey there. Welcome to my site. I'm Giles Giroux. I made this site to explore the world of real estate law. The process of buying or selling a home is fraught with difficulties that could lead to costly legal matters. Securing an attorney in the beginning stages could save everyone a lot of trouble and money in the end. I learned about the importance of hiring an attorney during my first home purchase. I was clueless about the entire process from required forms to the safe exchange of funds. I was also unaware of the requirements for inspections and repairs before the sale could go through. Thankfully, I ended up with an attorney who could help me with those matters. I will use this site to explore similar matters and discuss them with my readers. I hope you come back soon to visit my site.
